Naked Bums and Birthdays...

**Warning - Long post!!**

Wow, it sure has been awhile since I've actually sat down and really blogged. and since this is basically a journal for me, I really need to be better at it. Well, the past few weeks have been crazy to say the least. We've had a ton of family birthdays this month! My mom, sis-in-law Heather, sis-in-law Jeanette, bro-in-law Donovan, bro-in-law Jake, and lastly my John. So September was filled with birthdays and fun! Well, mostly fun...

A couple of weeks ago, Friday the 25th, to be exact, I woke up feeling really yucky. Not just normal pregnancy morning sickness. Like sick sick. And sure enough, as soon as I got out of bed...the fun began. And it lasted ALL day. I was in the bathroom literally every 20-30 minutes and wasn't keeping anything down. I had called John because I didn't know what to do with Lucy, and he was amazing enough to coem home early and take care of her. Well it went on into the night and I still wasn't keeping anything down. And then I started feeling really dizzy and light-headed and had a HUGE headache. So being nervous about the baby and just feeling crappy, I called the doctor on call and the nurse told me to get the Emergency Room ASAP because I needed to get re-hydrated. So thanks to amazing neighbors who came and got Lucy at 10 PM and let her sleep over, John and I headed to the hospital. I got admitted and got an IV going, and 4 hours later I was feeling much better and we headed home at around 3 AM. Yuck. So Saturday, I was still feeling iffy but better. But then John decided he didn't want to miss out on the fun either, so he was sick all Saturday night and Sunday. Way nice. All in all, we are better now. And by some MIRACLE Lucy didn't get sick!! I just kept waiting for her to, but she never did. Talk about an answer to our prayers!! I was so worried she would and that I wouldn't be able to handle it. (I have a super bad gag reflex...)

But by last Tuesday, John was feeling fine and I was getting over it, so we decided to take a drive and have a picnic in the mountains for John's birthday. (His b-day was the 29th) We went up to Brighton to the little lake they have, I don't remember what it's called. It's way nice though. It has a walking trail around it and oh my goodness, the colors were amazing!! It looked like someone had painted the mountains. Gorgeous! And Lucy loved being able to run around, picking grass, and making friends with other hikers that were up there.

It was just so nice to be able to get away for a minute, even though it was freezing! So as you can see, the past couple of week have been pretty crazy. Hence my lack of blogging. But, I'm going to try to be better. Because there will be exciting things coming in the next few months. Halloween, Thanksgiving, finding out if we're having a boy or girl, and the whole Christmas season!! Should be pretty exciting.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop now cause this post is long enough. But I just want to leave you with this one last picture. Lucy is gonna hate when she's older...

This is what I get for putting her down for a nap in just her diaper... We learned that lesson fast.

Can't help but love a naked baby bum!

This is what makes my day...

I LOVE THIS GIRL!!

She makes me so happy.

How can you not love that face?

Just a little something to hold you over till I can get around to posting. Things have been pretty crazy around here and I haven't been feeling too hot. Which leads to a lack of blogging. Sorry, more to come soon I promise!!

2 years down...ETERNITY to go!!!!!

So this last weekend, John and I were able to get away and celebrate our 2nd anniversary, which is on Tuesday the 11th. It was so nice to just get away from everything and spend some time together. We went to a bed and breakfast called The Inn On The Hill downtown. It's an old mansion that they've turned into a bed and breakfast. It was so nice.

Out on the grounds, we found a little fountain that had a big "M" next to it. M for Matern? I think so...

We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert, which was absolutely amazing!! Except that we accidentally left our left-overs on the table. I was way bummed cause the pasta I had was sooo good. When we got back to the Inn, we got to our room and found some sparkling cider, nice glasses and candles all over the room . It was awesome! So romantic!

And oh my goodness! The best part of the whole room... the tub!!!! It was Enormous!!! ABSOLUTELY HUGE!! And it was jetted. Perfect! Seriously if you don't believe me that it was huge, look at the pictures...

Yep, we both fit...

Mmmm, so nice!!
Oh and there were his and her robes. We thought it was pretty funny...

View of the room. It had such a pretty view of downtown and the temple. We will definitely be going back!!
The next morning before we came back to get Lucy, we walked around Temple Square for a while. It brought back so many memories of our wedding day. Perfect for celebrating our anniversary.

The flowers were so pretty! I couldn't help myself.

It was a perfect weekend all together. It was so nice to just get away with my sweet, amazing hubby. This past 2 years has been the best I could have ever asked for. I have a beautiful daughter with him and he is the most amazing father to her. John is the love of my life and I don't know what I would do without him. He makes me laugh so hard everyday and I feel so lucky to have him in my life. He works so hard for me to be able to stay home with Lucy and I am so grateful for that. I honestly don't think a day has gone by in our marriage that he hasn't told me he loves me. He is simply amazing and I love him so much. John, thank you for putting up with me and being married to me. Love you!!

Thank You

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has left comment on my last post. I don't think any of you will know how much they meant to me. The day I wrote that post, I was having a really tough day and the encouraging things said were deeply felt. I am so grateful for all of the friends that we have that care so much about us. You are all amazing. I know that I'm not the only person that struggles with this and the love and support from friends and family is incredible. I know that our story is nothing compared to some couples struggle to become parents. We have a child. We have Lucy. And we are so grateful for her give thanks everyday for her being in our lives. We just pray that one day soon we might be blessed with another member of our family. I also pray everyday for the other couples, ones I know and ones I don't, to be blessed with the child they so long for and deserve. And I ask all of you to do the same. Say a little prayer in your heart for all those who are trying to add to their little families. Thank you everyone!!!

Frustration and joy....

It's been a while since I've posted. Not because nothing has happened, but mostly because I'm lazy. I read other peoples blogs and tell myself that I need to update mine, but then a diaper needs changing, dinner needs to be made, laundry needs to be done. So it goes un-updated. Another reason for maybe being lazy is the frustration in the title.

John and I have been trying for another baby for almost 8 months. And obviously, there hasn't been a positive result. A couple of months ago, I decided to go to the doctor just to get everything checked out to make sure all was well. Well, at that appointment we discovered that I'm not ovulating and through an ultrasound that I have what they called an ovulatory cyst. I have been having some pain that I just dismissed due to painful periods, but the cyst explains it all. So, in the last few months we've kept trying an keeping track of pain, and "ovulation" with the hopes of something good coming from it. Well the pain is actually getting worse so Thursday I went in for another ultrasound to make sure the cyst isn't getting bigger or causing more problems. I sit here today waiting for the results, praying that this is something we can fix. I trying my hardest to keep my hopes up and be positive, but I'll be honest, the negative tends to get the best of me.

I feel like there are pregnant women everywhere. And I'm so happy for them!!! Really I am! But I can't help but wish it were me and John. John and I both know that there are more children for us to bring into this world, but the waiting game for me is getting unbearable. Luckily, I have a husband who is by all means AMAZING. He has let me cry so many times on his shoulder and been the optimistic one in this whole situation. And I love him so much for that. So for now we wait it out and prayer that we're blessed with another little one soon.

AND NOW FOR THE JOY!!!!!!!

My adorable daughter! Lucy has honestly gotten me through so much. I love her so much and I love being her mother. Here are a few pictures from the past little while...
On the 4th of July, we hiked up behind Red Butte Gardens with my family to watch fireworks. You could see across the whole valley! It was beautiful!!

Over the 24th we went camping with my Mom and Dad. It was a blast! It was so nice to get away. Lucy was so happy! Until we had to go home...:)

The past few weeks, Lucy and I have been getting together with my friend Debbie and her little girl Ainsleigh. One day we went downtown to the Discovery Gateway Children's Muesem. They had so much fun!

And last but not least, the love of my life. I love John so much! This weekend we're going to be celebrating our 2 year annniversary!! It's actually not till the 11th, but we're goign to a bed adn breakfast in Salt Lake this weekend. I'm so excited! This has been the best 2 years of my life and I owe it all to John. He is my best friend and my eternal companion. Thank you for everything John. I love you!!!!!!
