4 Months

So here is the first belly picture for this baby...

17 weeks, just over 4 months

I didn't want to take a picture or post it, but John made me cause I never put pictures of myself up on the blog.

I feel like I have really popped with this one so much earlier than with Lucy. I guess it does happen sooner with each one!

Also, if all goes well and baby cooperates, we should be finding out what we are having on
Nov. 30th! We are so excited!

Our Baby...

...is the size of an avocado.

I am just over 16 weeks with this little one and I am so excited. I go in for my next appointment on Tuesday. Hopefully, I will be able to schedule my 20 week ultrasound then and we'll find out what we are having by Thanksgiving!

Also, I've started feeling this little one move every once in a while. It makes it more real now that there is actually something moving and living inside of me.

Only 24 weeks to go!!

The Halloween Post

Now that I've read everyone else's blogs, I guess it's time to update my own. It was so much more fun this year with Lucy being older. Wednesday was the Trunk or Treat at my parents ward. John had scouts, so I took Lucy. It was freezing! So we didn't do too much trunk or Treating. Lucy was miserable cause her hands were so cold. (Her genius mother forgot gloves...) But inside the church they had chili, soup, and games. So she was much happier inside.

My cute little witch
On Saturday, we went to John's parents Trunk or Treat in the afternoon. Lucy liked this one so much more. She would go to every car and pick out her own candy then run away. It was so cute!

She wouldn't keep her hat on, but at least I got a few pictures...

Lucy with her cousins Ava and Deacon.

I love this picture!
After that, we went over to my parents house to hang out for a bit and to take Lucy around to some of the houses in their neighborhood. I stayed with my mom to hand out candy while John took Lucy with my dad, sister and neice Elinor.

It was a good but really long day. I can't wait till next year when Lucy will understand a little better what's going on.

Pumpkin Time

**lots of pictures**

Last night for FHE, we decided to carve our pumpkins. Last year, Lucy was only 5 months old so it was really fun for her to get involved this time and actually do her own pumpkin. She just painted hers, but she helped John and I empty the guts out of ours.

Lucy's baby pumpkin...she kept calling it her ball and wanted to throw it.

I found these really cool paint brushes that you squeeze the paint onto the brush so the mess isn't as big. Very helpful!

Havin' fun!

Gettin' dirty but having fun doing it!

The finished products
Lucy's is the baby one, mine is the middle one, the music note, and John's is the last one. His is 3 Chess pieces. Not too bad for free-hand. Haha
We had a lot of fun. I loved that Lucy could actually participate, and she loved getting messy. Speaking of Lucy, she is getting so big!! I can't believe it. She talks so much and starting to try to put sentences together. My favorites right now are when she finishes or does something, she'll say "There you go" and then when I'm changing her diaper or has a poopy diaper that needs to be changed she'll say "Eww, stinky!" It's so fun to be able to actually almost have a conversation with her and have her understand what I'm saying and vice versa. She loves to dance and sing all the time and she LOVES books.

This weekend we had a crazy experience. Saturday we were at the grocery store and Lucy didn't want to sit in the cart, so John put her in the basket part of the cart. Well, I left John with Lucy and went down the isle to grab somethign and the next thing I know Lucy is on the ground screaming. She had fallen out of the cart and landed flat on her back and hit her head. John picked her up and she was just acting really weird. She wouldn't calm down and it seemed like she was having a hard time keeping her head straight. She was really wobbly. By the time we got to the car to take her to the InstaCare, she wasn't doing any better and started gagging. So we decided to take her to the ER. Luckily it was right down the street from where we were. We got there and got admitted and the nurse checked her out and we were waiting for the doctor to come in to see her. They said since she was calming down and she hadn't vomited that things looked good, but the doctor would tell us for sure. As soon as the nurse left the room, Lucy started gagging again and threw-up. Talk about freak out! They had just told us that vomited was a sign of head trauma so I frantically sent John to find someone and let them know. John found a different nurse, we got her cleaned up and said that since it wasn't constant vomiting, she should be ok. We waited for about 10 more minutes and the doctor finally came in. In that time, Lucy started doing better adn was wanting to read books and play. When he came in, Lucy was playing with him and making him read her books and smiling. He said that was a good sign but wanted to keep her for a while just to watch her and see if she vomits again. So while we waited, I think Lucy decided that she was fine because she was up dancing and running around and wanting to leave. So we got discharged with a list of things to look for in the next few days and went home. She's been fine all weekend and yesterday, just a little more tired and cranky than usual. I don't blame her though! She has a huge headache! Poor baby. But she was back to herself the next day so we aren't too worried about her. no we're just really paranoid about anytime she hits her head or falls down.

Anyways, that was our weekend in a nutshell. I have more stories, but I think this post is long enough. Till next time!

Sleep-Walker

By looking at the time this post was written, you might assume that the said sleep-walker is me. But it is not. It is my lovely daughter Lucy. Who knew that a 17 month old would sleep-walk?!? Tonight isn't the first time it has happened either! It usually only happens on nights that she has a hard time going to bed and is really restless. And when it happens, I usually cannot go back to sleep for 2-3 hours, hence a blog at 4 AM. I usually don't hear her get up until she runs into something in her room and starts crying. Not crying because she is hurt, but because it wakes her up and she can't find her "night-night" aka pacifier. So I usually just go in her room, turn on her lamp, find her "night-night", but her back to bed, and she goes right back to sleep.

Part of me finds this hilarious and cute, but the other part of me worries a little. If she is doing this now, will she always do it? It's only happened a few times, but I can't help but wonder if it will get more frequent or worse. Luckily we always keep her door closed, so she can't go anywhere but her room, but what happens when she can open doors? I'm a paranoid person at night. I wake up all the time seeing and hearing things in my house that really freak me out. So I don't know if I could handle a sleep-walking child that can get out of their room and walk around the house. Maybe it's just a phase. Maybe I took her out of her crib and put her in a toddler bed too early. (But she's been in her toddler bed for months and this has only started happening in the last few weeks.) Maybe she is just a silly little girl that happens to occasionally sleep-walk.

I don't know. I'll probably be spending the next hour Google-ing "Sleep-Walking Toddlers" to see if I can find any information because I can't sleep.

Naked Bums and Birthdays...

**Warning - Long post!!**

Wow, it sure has been awhile since I've actually sat down and really blogged. and since this is basically a journal for me, I really need to be better at it. Well, the past few weeks have been crazy to say the least. We've had a ton of family birthdays this month! My mom, sis-in-law Heather, sis-in-law Jeanette, bro-in-law Donovan, bro-in-law Jake, and lastly my John. So September was filled with birthdays and fun! Well, mostly fun...

A couple of weeks ago, Friday the 25th, to be exact, I woke up feeling really yucky. Not just normal pregnancy morning sickness. Like sick sick. And sure enough, as soon as I got out of bed...the fun began. And it lasted ALL day. I was in the bathroom literally every 20-30 minutes and wasn't keeping anything down. I had called John because I didn't know what to do with Lucy, and he was amazing enough to coem home early and take care of her. Well it went on into the night and I still wasn't keeping anything down. And then I started feeling really dizzy and light-headed and had a HUGE headache. So being nervous about the baby and just feeling crappy, I called the doctor on call and the nurse told me to get the Emergency Room ASAP because I needed to get re-hydrated. So thanks to amazing neighbors who came and got Lucy at 10 PM and let her sleep over, John and I headed to the hospital. I got admitted and got an IV going, and 4 hours later I was feeling much better and we headed home at around 3 AM. Yuck. So Saturday, I was still feeling iffy but better. But then John decided he didn't want to miss out on the fun either, so he was sick all Saturday night and Sunday. Way nice. All in all, we are better now. And by some MIRACLE Lucy didn't get sick!! I just kept waiting for her to, but she never did. Talk about an answer to our prayers!! I was so worried she would and that I wouldn't be able to handle it. (I have a super bad gag reflex...)

But by last Tuesday, John was feeling fine and I was getting over it, so we decided to take a drive and have a picnic in the mountains for John's birthday. (His b-day was the 29th) We went up to Brighton to the little lake they have, I don't remember what it's called. It's way nice though. It has a walking trail around it and oh my goodness, the colors were amazing!! It looked like someone had painted the mountains. Gorgeous! And Lucy loved being able to run around, picking grass, and making friends with other hikers that were up there.

It was just so nice to be able to get away for a minute, even though it was freezing! So as you can see, the past couple of week have been pretty crazy. Hence my lack of blogging. But, I'm going to try to be better. Because there will be exciting things coming in the next few months. Halloween, Thanksgiving, finding out if we're having a boy or girl, and the whole Christmas season!! Should be pretty exciting.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop now cause this post is long enough. But I just want to leave you with this one last picture. Lucy is gonna hate when she's older...

This is what I get for putting her down for a nap in just her diaper... We learned that lesson fast.

Can't help but love a naked baby bum!

This is what makes my day...

I LOVE THIS GIRL!!

She makes me so happy.

How can you not love that face?

Just a little something to hold you over till I can get around to posting. Things have been pretty crazy around here and I haven't been feeling too hot. Which leads to a lack of blogging. Sorry, more to come soon I promise!!
