LoVe tHiS GiRl!

This post is mostly pictures, so bear with me...

I think that the ability to do this is hereditary. My grandma, my mom, my sister and I all do this to hold our breath under water. I guess Lucy makes #5...
Playin' peek-a-boo
Isn't this just the best face ever?!

So yesterday, I walked into the other room to do something and when I came back and this is what I found...

She figured out how to open the wipes and pull them out...

She was so proud of herself! She would take one out and then show it to me like "See Mom! look what I can do!!"
Love this girl!

Sweetest Husband Ever!

I just have to say that I have the sweetest husband ever! This man will do anything to make sure that Lucy and I are happy! For Valentine's Day, he told me he had a surprise for me. (He is so good at planning surprises!) He knows that I hate being surprised, especially when I know there is one coming (which is probably why he does it all the time...), so he told me that I would need to get dressed up for Valentine's. So I bought a new dress and gave he me plenty of time to get ready while he took care of Lucy. I don't think he realized how much just that meant to me. I'm sure all you moms out there can relate, but when you have a little one, you kind of forget about yourself and don't take time on yourself very often. It was so nice to be able to take time to et ready and actually feel cute and pretty instead of frumpy stay-at-home mom. So after we got all ready, we took Lucy to John's parents house (thanks Suzanne and Dave!) for the night. Then he took me to The Old Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square. I had never been to that one and it was so nice. Mostly because it was just the 2 of us and we didn't have to worry about a baby. After dinner, we headed up to Park City. (John had actually told me about this part cause he wanted to make sure I would like it.) We went to Main Street, Part City to the Egyptian Theater. He took me to the musical "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum"! Since we've been married, I've slowly been converting John to musicals, so this was so sweet that he did this on his own instead of me begging that we could go. It was a very funny play and the venue was very cool. I had never been to Old Park City before so it was so fun for me to see all the cute little shops and restaurants. All in all, it was a lovely evening with the most amazing man in the whole world. He really is so romantic! Even though he doesn't believe me when I tell him that.

I love my husband so much and so grateful to be able to be with him forever. I know that I dote on both Lucy and John all the time but I can't help it! I am just the luckiest girl in the universe to have them both in my life!! Thanks for the amazing Valentine's Day babe!

My Sweet Girl

I took Lucy to get her 9 month pictures taken a couple of weeks ago, but because I'm lazy I'm just now putting them up! She did so good seeing as it was during her usual nap time. I just love how big she is getting and how much more fun she is getting!
She is starting to imitate you more now too, which is really fun. She talks and babbles all the time and she'll say "uh-oh" and loves to play peek-a-boo.
I love these next 2 pictures because they are just classic Lucy pictures.
I love these faces!
She also LOVES to stand!! If she had better balance she would be running all over the place! Whenever she falls over, she starts to cry. Not because she fell over, but because she's not standing anymore. Silly girl.
She just has so much personality that sometimes I don't know what to do with her! She's gonna be trouble in a few years! haha But we love her and so brings so much joy and laughter into our home.

Lucy, Daddy, Fish, and Cake

Alrighty! Well here's a little update as to what's been going on lately. Our computer is being fixed right now, so that's why I haven't been able to post too much. Lucy had her 9 month appointment this week and she's still big and tall. She's 29 1/2 in. tall (97th%) and weighs almost 21 lbs.(80th%). My big girl!
I just had to put this picture in here cause I love it. It just shows how much Lucy loves her daddy and how much fun they have together.
We also were able to go to the Living Planet Aquarium last week with my 9 year old cousin Olivia. Both of the girls loved it! Lucy would get so excited whenever a fish would swim up close to her. It was so much fun!!
Ok, so Lucy's birthday is in May and I decided that I wanted to make a cake for her. Not just a normal cake, but a GOOD cake. So today I channelled my inner creativity and made my first fondant/decorated cake as kind of a practice run for her birthday.
I seriously have felt so proud of myself all day today. I made the fondant myself, from scratch, as well as the buttercream frosting that is underneath the fondant. Can we say domestic? haha
Not too shabby if I do say so myself! I love it!

Out of Commission

So I haven't been able to post lately because I've kind of been out of commission. A little over a week ago, I had surgery to remove a ganglion cyst from my left wrist. I've been really sore and was on some major pain killers for a while, but things are much better now.
This picture is right after I was able to take my splint and bandaging off. I get the stitches out this week. It's been kind of annoying not being able to really play with Lucy like I want to and be able to hold her and pick her up but it'll be so much better in the long run! The cyst was really painful and now it shouldn't come back! Yeah!
As you can see, Lucy's hair is pretty much OUT OF CONTROL!!! It's like this all of the time. She moves so much while she's sleeping and when she wakes up, this is what her hair looks like. It's hilarious! Lucy is getting so big and funny. She is so much more vocal now and will certainly let us know when she wants something or wants to let her opinion be known. She still isn't crawling, she's a stubborn little thing. But she loves to stand! She wants to stand all the time. I really think she's going to walk before she ever crawls. She tries to walk and will let go of our fingers but she doesn't have very good balance so she just falls over. Oh the joys of a child finding their independence! It's just so much fun watching her discover all sorts of new things. My baby girl is turning into not so much of a baby girl!
