Stuck

So, the other day I was sitting on the couch (something I do A LOT these days) while Goose was having "quiet time" in her room when I heard Bubs crawling around the kitchen. I wasn't paying much attention to him when I heard him starting to whine a little bit. My natural reaction was "Oh come on Bubs, your fine.", so I glanced over to see what he was doing.

I started laughing so hard.

I'm pretty sure he was trying to get a ball that he had been rolling around and got stuck. The best part was that once he saw that I was paying attention to him, he was perfectly happy and stayed in there for about another 5-10 minutes till I took him out. He was so proud of himself.

He's such a BOY and I love it.

(PS, Goose still lives here. I realized that a lot of my posts lately have been focused around Bubs. There are 2 reasons. One is that she won't let me take pictures of her and when I do get one, they're usually really goofy looking. And two is that I have a post coming up soon all about her and her new "purple room". Don't worry, the wait will be worth it.)

I wish I could remember

I think I need to invest in a tape recorder cause my daughter is hilarious. She says the funniest things, but I never remember to write them down and then I end up not being able to remember at all what she said. She cracks me up all day. I having a love-hate relationship with the age she is at. There are times when I have seriously thought about selling her and then she says something hilarious and I want to keep her again.

Goose was Tinkerbell for the majority of the day today. She's pretty awesome and darn cute if you ask me...

Bubs was here today too and he's just as awesome as Goose. I caught him playing with my phone today. He was holding it to his ear and talking. So funny. So cute. No pictures, but at least I'm telling you about it.

Can you believe that in just over a month (35 days to be exact), this dude will be 1? Yeah, neither can I.

The sky is falling!

K, not really but with 2 posts in one day it might as well be.

Bubs had his first haircut this week. Not that he had a ton of hair to cut but it needed to be done. Bubs' hair is very fine and VERY blond. Closer to white relly. But he had 3 spots on his head, right on top like Alfalfa, and behind both of his ears, that it was so long and whispy and would never lay flat.

So off it came!

He actually did a lot better than I thought he would. He just sat there while Goose and Daddy kept him entertained.

You probably wouldn't even notice if I hadn't said anything, but I think he looks so much older now.

Speaking of old, Bubs is 10 1/2 months old now! He's still huge, weighs 23 lbs, and crawls everywhere like a madman. He'll stand when he wants to sometime thinks about walking but then soon remembers that crawling is so much faster. Listen dude, you have 2 months to start walking cause well, I just need you to.

We love ya Bubs. Thanks for being so awesome. You are absolutely hilarious and you adore your big sister, which is super cute. I can't believe that in just a month and a half you'll be 1. Party on dude.

Probably about time...

...to show you proof that we have another little munchkin making it's way into our family. The Mr. actually had to remind me that we hadn't taken any pictures of my belly with this pregnancy yet and that I never take pictures of myself. Weird. I was so diligent when I was pregnant with Goose and Bubs to get a picture at least once a month. So here we are at almost 28 weeks with the 1st picture and we're getting anxious.

If all goes according to plan, this little man should be making his arrival mid to late April. My doctor, because of how my pregnancy went with Bubs and how similar this one is to it, is planning on making it to 37 weeks and doing the c-section then. So if that's the case, we have just over 9 weeks to wait.

Ready or not, here he comes.

Can't catch a break...

It's 4:30 in the morning and here I sit on the couch while the Mr. lies in bed with my Goose who, last time I checked, has a temperature of 102.7, an awful cough, runny nose, and just plain old feeling "yucky". I've never seen her this sick before.

It breaks my heart.

It's been a rough few months here in the Matern house. Between Bubs having chronic and consistent ear infections (he's FINALLY having tubes put in on Tuesday), Goose breaking her arm on Christmas Eve, the Mr. dislocating his knee while playing churchball 2 weeks ago (which by the way, he's just starting to be able to bend it and put weight on it), and me going into the hardest part of this pregnancy, I AM DONE.

I just want to remember what it's like to have everyone in my house healthy and happy all at the same time.

I want to not be at the doctors office at least once a week (it's been a lot more than that lately) anymore.

I want the people at the pharmacy to not recognize me or Bubs' name when we come in for a perscription.

I want medicine, and temperatures, and doctor's appointments, and surgeries, and physical therapy, and bedrest, and perscriptions, and broken washing machines, and flat tires, and migraines to be the LAST things on my mind.

 I want normal back.

But, this is the real world. And in the real world, MY real world, this is how we roll. So, if you see me and I look like I haven't slept or showered in a couple of days, it's probably cause I haven't. Don't be alarmed. This is how I roll.

I know that I'm not given anything I can't handle ( I have to remind myself of that daily...) but I think someone upstairs sometimes feels like I'm stronger than I am.

I'm just trying to take care of my family.

Didn't mean for this to come across as a "pity me and my broken family" kind of post. But hey, it's my blog and I'll write what I want to. You would write too if it happen to you. (so clever...)

Alright Matern clan, we have 10-11 weeks to get all of this out of our systems before Manchild #3 makes his way into this crazy world of ours. We can do it. I want us to look like this again... all happy and shiny.

We can do it.

Welcome back Monday pictures

My bad. Between having my laptop crash, the holidays, and the fact that I'm a total slacker Monday pictures had disappeared for a while. But we're back! (They may be Christmas pictures and not pictures of today per say, but they're pictures.) Can't promise anything amazing, but we're back. And I promise I will get caught up with our lives shortly too.

So...

Greeting this Monday from the Goose who enjoyed her Christmas morning despite having her arm in a sling and being in pain. (Story to come...)

And from Bubs, who rides in style, yo.

We're back in buisness folks.
